About Us
Fr. Eric J Gruber graduated from Palmerton High School, Penn State University (BA in Philosopy),
Mary Immaculate Seminary (MDiv) (when run by the Vincentian Fathers),
St. Charles Borromeo (Deacon year), and was ordained to the priesthood
by Bishop Thomas J Welsh, DD in 1991.
He has served as assistant pastor at Notre Dame in Bethlehem, theology teacher at Allentown Central Catholic and Notre Dame H.S. Green Pond, while in residence at Holy Trinity, Egypt, and St. Bernard's, Easton. Returning to parish ministry he was then assistant pastor at St. Ambrose, Schuylkill Haven, and St. Elizabeth, Whitehall, and then as pastor of St. Vincent de Paul/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Minersville, and administrator of St. Kieran's, Hecksherville, and then as administrator of St. Lawrence and St. Andrew's, Catasauqua, until founding the merged, new parish of St. John Fisher Church, North Catasauqua, in 2014 under the authority of Bishop John O Barres.
St. John Fisher Parish family uses the physical site of the former St. Andrew's Church on the corner of
3rd and Eugene Streets, and , after two years of the merger refurbished the Church building with new paint and new features, while maintaining our links to our histories.
